Financial Contribution
Nord Family Foundation $1:1 Challenge Grant!
We just received a match proposal through the Nord Family Foundation! We need new donors and current donors to increase their donations for the LCFC to match the $25,000 through stipulations of the proposal. The Lorain County Free Clinic is counting on you to help us achieve our goal by October 2009.
The LCFC must raise every dollar of its annual operating budget, which includes the costs of prescription drugs, insurance, utilities, (rent is free), and salaries for small staff.
To establish organizational goals and to achieve desired chief end results, the Free Clinic must develop and maintain broad and diverse resource pools, both with medicines and supplies, but also in areas of funding. As this is accomplished, patients without access to health insurance receive quality medical care with the opportunity to maintain prescription drug schedules, have access to specialists, diagnostic lab, imaging and hospital services.
In order to operate, the Free Clinic must do so in two separate arenas: One as a small business which carries with it budget line items such as postage, insurance, computers, utilities, copiers, office supplies and telephones. These general operating line items are used to directly serve the patient or program sustainability: program advocacy, fundraising, patient services, public awareness, technology and volunteer recruitment.
Since the Free Clinic does not have a product or service revenue stream (program fees- do not bill patients or receive Medicaid reimbursements) it must diversify its funding pools with grants, special events, foundation and general public support. This task, in this local economy remains extremely difficult, challenging and competitive.
We gladly accept both medical and monetary donations. Either give us a call at 277-6641, or mail to us at the Lorain County Free Clinic-3323 Pearl Avenue-Lorain, OH 44055.
